Jack and Sophie Reunited

Since they arrived at Beth Israel, the triplets have maintained their spot center stage in the NICU, with Sophie, Henry, and Jack stationed on the center wall in that order, from left to right. As a result, Sophie and Jack have been separated from one another for the past four weeks with Henry residing smack dab in between the two.

Until last night, that is!  Sophie and Jack have been in cahoots from afar for a while now. See Jack pulling at his nasal cannula below? And see how unapologetic he is about it? Jack must have heard that Sophie was getting time off from the CPAP…he is eager to join her in celebrating that milestone!

Well, they’ve also been in a race to gain weight, and tonight, Jack bested Sophie by .02 ounces.

Here they are together again, celebrating their latest milestone: “We’re three pounds!”

I’m not sure where Sophie thinks she’s going in this photo, but she always seems to have her own agenda,  doesn’t she?

Earlier, in her isolette: Sophie, suddenly camera shy…

Our dear sweet Henry has been making mischief of his own, although you’d never guess it from the photos below!

Henry’s mischief-making is of the digestive variety. After a couple of x-rays, some ugly green bile, antibiotics, and a night off from feeding, Henry was looking much better this afternoon, but the doctors and nurses are being cautious. We are hoping they will start his feeds again this evening–if he’s anything like his father, he’s going to start getting cranky if he misses too many meals! As of 3pm, we were still awaiting the official results of this morning’s repeat x-ray. In the meantime, he’s getting his nutrition via an IV, and he was happy to enjoy a long kangaroo care snuggle this morning. When I left the hospital at 3pm today, he was, as you might have guessed, back on his belly and quite content!

  1. I love reading about your beautiful babies! I too have triplets that turned 15 in March. Good luck and keep the updates coming!
