Happy Valentine’s Day?

Are you starting to understand how these posts work? A holiday happens or a milestone arrives, and about five to ten days later you can expect a post about it. So we’re all on the same page? Good. Now here’s how our first Valentine’s Day as a family of five went down. It was pretty much like any other Saturday, except that this year, when February 14th rolled around, my heart was so full of love that it nearly burst.

Will and I have celebrated fifteen (yes, fifteen!) Valentine’s Days together already, just the two of us. So for the past decade and a half, my heart has been pretty full. And then, last April, three (three!) tiny people came into the world and filled my heart to bursting. I am completely enamored with my three little valentines. Take a look at these faces. Who wouldn’t be?

My favorite fellas:

2015-02-14 17.59.11

2015-02-14 17.58.51

And our little lady:

Jack couldn’t get enough of Sophie’s little ruffled butt!

As if my heart wasn’t already about to burst, I had the pleasure of visiting two of my other favorite little people over the long weekend.

Little Lily. Wearing Sophie’s “hand-me-downs,” days after Sophie last wore them herself! Nevermind that Sophie is the older cousin by a solid eight months. Love this teeny peanut! So happy to finally meet her.

Selfies with over-excited nearly two-and-a-half-year-olds can be tricky…

Noah and I had oursevles a snowy day! Crunch, crunch, crunch.

Bedtime stories and mustache footie pajamas.

Henry, Jack, and Sophie enjoyed furry Valentines from Grandma (who is really their great-grandma) and a musical card from Baba (also a great-grandma)!

10 Months (and one week) Old!

It seems like these babies are learning new tricks every day. The latest developments are: sitting up unsupported, pulling up on things, and teeth! Read on to see who’s doing what.

Still our teeniest peanut, Sophie is always the last to sleep and the first to wake, but the lack of daytime sleep doesn’t seem to bother her much! She loves playing independently, in her crib, on her play mat, or rolling around on the floor of her room. She also thinks it’s hilarious when one of her brothers pins her down. She’s still rocking the army crawl, and she’s getting faster by the day, so she can escape the clutches of Henry and Jack when necessary!

Weight: 13 lbs, 14.5 oz

Favorite past times: playing independently, rolling around with her brothers, looking at herself in the mirror, chatting, spitting out her food, sitting up on her own, not napping

2015-01-30 16.03.54

Hey! Who’s that silly girl in the mirror?

Favorite toys: frozen teethers, cell phones, her doll

New tricks: sitting unsupported, rocking back and forth on all fours, pulling up to her knees, babbling up a storm–her newest sound is “ga-ga.” We’re working on “da-da!”

Henry is fearless. He hates sitting up, but he loves trying to stand. He’ll climb over anything and anyone to get to where he wants, which is usually just the other side of whatever or whoever it is so that he can climb back over again. He squeals when he’s happy and is quick to let you know when he’s not. He’s got two bottom teeth, and if you’re lucky, he’ll smile wide enough so you can see them. Hint: he’s very ticklish!

Weight: 16 lbs, 14.5 oz

Favorite Past Time(s): climbing

Favorite Toys: Peek-a-boo bear, his stuffed Sassy ball, velcro, Sophie’s doll, and anything that plays music

New Tricks: pulling up to standing (yikes)

       2015-02-08 17.51.44

Jack is our expert crawler. He’s a pretty good sitter too, though he hasn’t quite figured out how to get out of the sitting position once he’s in it! He’s an avid climber too, and the first to use the baby gate to pull himself up (as he wailed for freedom on the other side). He likes splashing around in the bath tub (literally) and playing Peek-a-Boo in his high chair or crib. He loves to feed himself puffs and banana pieces, but he’s not a big fan of beef, or lentils, or pasta. He also likes wrestling with his brother and tackling his sister Sophie. He has two teeth to match his brother’s.

Weight: 16 lbs, 4.5 oz

Favorite past times: taking a bath, meeting up with his brother and sister for a chat, banging his feet against the side of the crib, reading, climbing

Favorite toys: anything with a tag, stuffed animals,

New tricks: pulling up to his knees, crawling around on all fours, babbling up a storm, pushing up to stand, baring his two teeth!

Triplet Time!

We hold most of our meetings under the exersaucer.

We know where the toys are now:

During a game of peek-a-boo at the high chairs

This was a SECRET meeting under the exersaucer. How many feet do you count under there?

Caught in the act!

Don’t worry, Sophie’s having fun!

Hmmm…I know I left that ball in here somewhere…

Mom makes a pretty good jungle gym…                                2015-01-30 18.31.00 2015-01-30 18.31.09Brotherly Love?
